Waterways
While in residence at Anchor graphics in Chicago I began a series on waterways and humanity’s impact on the freshwater fish population. In my practice I often re-use and re-visit past prints. I have begun to revisit this series through the lens of a Hudson Valley resident. The constant regeneration, repetition and reimagining of imagery mimics how the same water molecules have cycled through different phases endlessly since there has been water present on earth.
Water towers, plumbing pipes, topographical maps, sewers and bathroom faucets are all layered on top, below and within the human excretory system, nursing babies and wombs. The micro of our bodies and the macro of the natural world, as well as the systems that urban life is dependent upon, is endlessly fascinating and connected.
